Besh Ba Gowah Archaeological Park and Museum presents the annual Festival of Lights -- thousands of luminarias along the pueblo walls on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 5 to 9 p.m. – if weather is clement.

This annual festival delights visitors with a beautiful scene. A festive combination of the Southwest holiday tradition of luminaria lighting combined with the artistry of Native American cultural presentations. Early arrivals are invited to help light some of the thousands of candle-lit luminarias illuminating that are spread along the walls of the archaeological park’s partly reconstructed 800-year-old Salado culture ruins.

The Besh Ba Gowah Museum will be open to visitors for the duration of the event, and guests are welcome to view the exhibits and browse the unique items available in the gift store.

Admission to the event is also usually free – with non-perishable food donations encouraged, to support the Gila Community Food Bank.

Adjacent parking is limited, and a free shuttle service has been offered each of the past few years, a shuttle every 15 minutes from 4 p.m. until last call at 9 p.m. Shuttle parking is located at the Historic Train Depot located in Downtown Globe. 230 S. Broad St.
